You can customize this by changing "Day starts at" and "Day ends at" in "General".
Setting the time range in which you usually schedule events makes the calendar easier to view, so please give it a try.
If you want to restore the previous behavior:
- Set "General" → "Day starts at" to "0:00"
- Set "General" → "Day ends at" to "0:00"
