Events older than one year are not displayed with a Google Calendar account

When you switch devices, Google Calendar appears to sync only the past year of events by design.

Please check Google Calendar on a computer to see whether your older events still exist there.

If they do, you can bring all of the data back to Google Calendar on your new phone.

Export the data

1. Open Google Calendar on your computer.
2. Export your calendar data and download it to the computer.
3. Click the gear icon at the top right, then click "Settings".
4. Click "Import & export".
5. Under "Export", click the export button. The calendar data downloads as a .zip file.

※ If you save the .zip file on your computer and extract it, you can see the calendar data (files with the ".ics" extension).

Import the data

1. Import the downloaded calendar data into Google Calendar.
2. In Google Calendar "Settings", click "Import & export".
3. Under Import, click "Select file from your computer" and choose the ".ics" file you downloaded and extracted.
4. Make sure the calendar selected in the dropdown has the same name as the calendar in the data you are importing.
5. Click "Import".

This resets the events' creation date to today, and the events will also appear on your phone.

If the events still do not appear

On your Android device, open "Settings" > "Passwords, passkeys & accounts", select your Google Account, tap "Account sync", and turn the "Calendar" toggle off and then on again.
