When you set a notification in this app, the notification is sent not by this app but by the calendar app that comes preinstalled on your device.
Open your device's Settings app and tap "Notifications" to check the settings.
If "Do Not Disturb" is turned on, notifications will not arrive, so please also check that it is not enabled.
